XC90 Automatic Temperature Control Issue

Hi, I have a 2018 Volvo XC90 diesel with 178370 km. The automatic temperature control stopped working. There's an error stored, and the AC doesn't switch on. Could this be the temperature sensor? I suspect a faulty cable or plug.

The symptoms you've described certainly point towards a problem with the interior temperature sensor. Have you checked the sensor's wiring harness and connector for any visible damage or loose connections? Are you familiar with using a multimeter to check for continuity?

Thanks! I haven't checked with a multimeter yet. Could you elaborate on which specific pins I should test for continuity? Also, where is the interior temperature sensor located in the XC90?

Without proper diagnostic tools, attempting to test the sensor yourself could cause further damage. Based on the error code and symptoms, a defective sensor is highly probable. I recommend taking your Volvo to a qualified workshop for a proper diagnosis and repair. They will have the necessary tools and expertise.

Understood, I appreciate the advice. I took it to a local shop, and you were right - it was a faulty interior temperature sensor and a bad connection. They replaced the sensor and fixed the wiring. The total cost was 95€. Everything's working perfectly now!
