XC90 electronic parking brake failure

Help! My 2019 Volvo XC90 hybrid's electronic parking brake is completely dead. The handbrake won't engage, there's an error message in the display, and the brake warning light is on. I've checked the fuses, but no luck. Anyone else had this?

Sounds familiar! I had a similar issue with my 2016 BMW 5 series. All the same symptoms. Did you happen to read out the error codes?

Yeah, got one saying something about the brake caliper electric motor being faulty. You think that's it?

That was exactly it in my case, the electric motor in the calliper was defective. I tried everything myself, but in the end I had to go to the workshop. They replaced the motor. I hope it's the same in your case!
