XC90 Headlight Washer Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2020 Volvo XC90 hybrid owner experienced an issue where both the headlight cleaning system and windshield washer stopped working, despite having sufficient fluid levels. The problem was linked to a defective cable connection to the washer pump. After taking the vehicle to a workshop, the faulty connection was replaced, resolving the issue.

Thanks for the tip! I'm not super mechanically inclined, so where exactly would I find the pump and relay for the washer system on the XC90? Are they easy to get to, or do I need to take half the car apart?

Okay, so on my BMW it was a pain to get to, but I'm not sure about the XC90. Honestly, if you're not comfortable poking around, it might be best to take it to a workshop. Could be a leak in a hose as well. If it's the pump connection like mine was, it's a quick job for them, but diagnosing it yourself can be tricky. Good luck!

Thanks so much for your help! I took it to my local workshop, and you were spot on! It was a defective cable connection of the pump. They replaced it for 165€, and now everything is working perfectly again. Really appreciate the advice!

That sounds familiar. I had a similar problem with my 2016 BMW 3 Series a while back. The windshield washer stopped working, and it turned out to be a faulty connection to the pump. Have you checked the cable connections to the pump or the relay? It could be a simple fix.
