XC90 hybrid MAF sensor issue

My 2017 Volvo XC90 hybrid with 243081 kilometers is showing higher fuel consumption, occasional engine stalling at idle, a check engine light, and smoke during acceleration. Could a faulty mass air flow meter be causing this? I already checked the air filter and it seems fine.

Smoke when accelerating and engine stalling sounds pretty bad. Are you sure it's just the MAF sensor? Those symptoms could point to other issues, like problems with the fuel injectors or even the catalytic converter. Have you scanned the car for any error codes beyond what triggered the check engine light?
