Xcent engine stalling
Summary of the thread
A 2017 Hyundai Xcent with a gasoline engine is experiencing stalling issues and a check engine light, indicating a potential problem. The engine feels underpowered and takes longer to start. A similar case was resolved by diagnosing a faulty high-pressure fuel pump, which damaged the fuel volume regulator. The recommended solution is to have the fuel pressure tested at a workshop to confirm and address the issue.

Yes, the engine takes a bit longer to start than usual. Was the fuel regulator diagnosis obvious? What did you do to fix it? I don't want to get ripped off.

It wasn't obvious right away. The diagnostics pointed to a fuel injection issue, but the root cause was the high pressure fuel pump failing, which damaged the regulator. Get it checked by a workshop; they'll need to test the fuel pressure.

I took it to a workshop and they confirmed it was the fuel volume regulator! Apparently, the high pressure pump was defective as you suspected. It's going to cost me 1510€ to repair, but at least I know what the problem is.

I had something similar happen with my Xcent. Is the engine misfiring? Mine was a faulty fuel regulator, linked to the high pressure pump. It caused the engine to cut out and run rough. Is yours struggling to start?
