Xcent transmission indicator and check engine light
Summary of the thread
A 2017 Hyundai Xcent with 139,758 km mileage is experiencing issues with the transmission indicator and check engine light, alongside symptoms like unclean gear shifts, slippage, and grinding noises. The error memory suggests a radiator oil pressure defect, potentially due to a faulty cable or plug connection. Suggestions include checking the radiator coolant level, inspecting oil cooler lines for damage, and examining the pressure sensor connections. Ultimately, the problem was traced to a defective cable connection, which was repaired by a mechanic.

Regarding the radiator coolant level and oil cooler lines, are there any specific areas prone to leakage or damage that I should focus on? Also, where exactly is the pressure sensor located so I can inspect its connections?

On mine, the coolant leak was near a hose connection to the radiator itself - a very slow drip that took a while to notice. The pressure sensor is usually screwed into the transmission housing, near where the oil cooler lines attach. Honestly, with those symptoms and a potential pressure issue, I would strongly advise taking it to a trusted workshop for a proper leak detection and pressure gauge test. Better safe than sorry!

I appreciate your advice. I will follow up with a qualified mechanic. After inspecting the vehicle at the workshop, it turned out the cable connection of the component was defective and the mechanic repaired it for 95€. Thank you!

I had similar symptoms on my Xcent. The transmission was acting up, and the lights were on. Have you checked the radiator coolant level? A leak could cause low pressure and trigger those warnings. Also, inspect the oil cooler lines for any signs of damage. The pressure sensor might be faulty as well, but start with the basics.
