XRV Oil Pressure Warning Light
Summary of the thread
The oil pressure warning light on a 2017 Honda XRV was coming on intermittently, despite normal oil levels. The issue was suspected to be due to contaminated engine oil, as the oil appeared darker than usual and the maintenance interval had been exceeded. The problem was confirmed to be oil sludge buildup, which was resolved with an oil change and engine flush at a workshop.

The oil color is darker than usual, but no obvious oil leaks. I may have exceeded the recommended oil change period. Could that cause the warning?

Yep, sounds like the same issue I had. Dark oil and going over the interval points to sludge. Maybe try an oil additive, but I'd take it to a workshop. They can flush the engine and get fresh oil. Ignoring it could cause serious damage.

I took it to a workshop, and they confirmed oil sludge due to the extended maintenance interval. An oil change and engine flush fixed it, costing 165€ Thank you again.

I had something similar with my XRV. What does the oil look like? Is it sludgy or darker than usual? Any oil leaks? What's your typical oil change interval? Going far beyond could mean oil sludge buildup.
