Xsara System Readiness Error

I've got a Xsara too, and had something similar happen after I cleared some codes with a cheap OBD2 scanner. The readiness monitors take ages to reset sometimes. Did you clear any codes, or just read them?

I did clear some old fault codes after reading them. Figured I'd start with a clean slate. Should I have left them alone? Is there anything to do other than wait?

Clearing the codes is probably what did it. You basically reset the onboard diagnostics. Honestly, I never managed to get it sorted myself. Ended up biting the bullet and letting the workshop handle it. They seemed to know exactly what to do with the drive cycles and computer reset stuff.

I went to my mechanic and asked him to take a look. Turns out, as the car was recently read out via OBD2 diagnostics, it just needed a computer reset. He did it right away, and the error disappeared. The cost was 0€, as he only plugged in his computer and reset it. Thanks for the advice!
