Xterra fuel flap release malfunction

I am experiencing an issue with my 2005 Nissan Xterra (gasoline engine). The fuel flap release is not functioning. Error is stored in the error memory, locking/unlocking the fuel filler flap is impossible, and some vehicle functions are unavailable. Suspect linkage, if present, is defective. Any insights?

I had a similar problem on my Nissan Pathfinder. Is your key fob working correctly? Sometimes a weak battery can cause odd electrical issues. Also, check the fuel flap cable release, if it has one. That might be the culprit.

Thank you for the suggestion. The key fob seems to be operating normally. Where exactly is the fuel flap cable release located? I am unfamiliar with its specific location on the Xterra.

On my Pathfinder it was behind the trim in the cargo area, but I am unsure about your Xterra. Given the symptoms, and since it is an electrical issue and the error code, you might be better off having a workshop take a look. It could save you some frustration.

Appreciate the advice. I will take it to a workshop for diagnosis. The estimated repair cost is 210€. Thank you for your help.
