XTrail fuel pump issue

My 2015 Nissan XTrail diesel (86977 km) has a critical issue: The engine won't start consistently, stalls at idle, and the check engine light is on. Rough engine running and high fuel consumption are also evident. The error memory says it's a fuel pump defect, and I suspect the cable or plug connection. Has anyone else seen this?

Thanks. The error code specifically points to a fuel pump malfunction. I've visually checked the connectors and wiring, but haven't done any electrical testing. Did your issue trigger the same error code, and did fixing the connections solve it?

Yes, the code was for the fuel pump. Cleaning the contacts didn't fix it for good. I took it to a workshop, and they confirmed the connection issue but also found internal damage to the pump. Replacing the wiring harness and connector fixed it.
