XTrail GPS issue

Experiencing a GPS issue with my 2018 Nissan XTrail, gasoline engine, with about 50,446 km on the clock. The navigation system is showing 'No GPS reception' and the error memory has stored a corresponding fault. I suspect the GPS antenna itself is defective. Has anyone else encountered this?

Whoa, that sucks! My friend had similar probs with his old beater. Have you checked the antenna connection? Maybe it's just loose or corroded? Could save you a bundle!

Good point. I will check the connection to the antenna. But if it's not that, is there anything else that could cause this problem besides a faulty antenna?

Hmm, if it's not the connection, and you're getting that error, it kinda points to the antenna itself being kaput, doesn't it? Electronics can be weird, but I'd bet on needing a new antenna. Probably best to have a workshop take a peek though!

Thanks for the input. I took it to the shop, and you were right. The GPS antenna was indeed defective. Replacement cost me 200€, but at least the nav system is working again.
