4Runner tailgate hall sensor issue

Hi, I have a 2010 Toyota 4Runner with a gasoline engine at 165816 km. I'm getting an error stored in the error memory related to the tailgate hall sensor, and the tailgate doesn't open completely. I suspect a defective cable or plug connection. Anyone else had this?

I had a similar issue with my 4Runner. The tailgate acted up, and it turned out to be a sensor fault. Have you checked the sensor wiring thoroughly?

Yeah, I checked the wiring as best I could. I don't see any obvious breaks, but maybe I'm missing something. Was your issue exactly the same, incomplete opening?

Yes exactly the same. The tailgate would start to open, then stop. I'd suggest taking it to a workshop to get properly diagnosed. They can check the sensor and wiring properly.

Thanks for the advice! I took it to the shop and you were spot on. Replaced the hall sensor connector and wiring and it's fixed now. Cost me 95€.
