Arkana transmission oil temperature sensor error
Summary of the thread
A 2023 Renault Arkana hybrid is experiencing issues with the MIL illuminated and error codes indicating a faulty transmission oil temperature sensor. Symptoms include the gearbox entering emergency mode, slippage, unclean shifts, and grinding noises. The problem is suspected to be linked to a low gearbox oil level, especially since the issues worsen during longer drives and warmer weather. A similar case was resolved by confirming low gearbox oil, leading to sensor malfunction due to overheating, and was fixed by topping up the oil and replacing the sensor.
Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Interesting. Yes, the problems do seem worse during longer drives and in warmer weather. Did your error codes also point to the transmission oil temperature sensor? And what was the eventual diagnosis?

Yes, the error codes indicated a faulty transmission oil temperature sensor as well. The workshop confirmed that the gearbox oil level was indeed too low, which likely caused the sensor to malfunction due to overheating, and caused the transmission to enter emergency mode to protect it. I suggest you take it to a workshop to get it checked.

Thanks for the info. Sounds like I'm heading for a similar resolution. I'll book it in at the workshop. For the record, the repair cost was 365€, including the sensor replacement and oil top-up. Hopefully, this will help other Arkana owners in the future.

I've had similar issues with my Arkana. The symptoms you described sound eerily familiar to what I experienced a few months back. Did you notice if the problems are more pronounced during longer drives or when the ambient temperature is higher? I am asking because that might point to overheating problems.
