Avalon oil pressure warning light

Alright, I'm pulling my hair out here! My 2012 Toyota Avalon Hybrid is throwing a fit at 111543 km. The oil pressure warning lamp lights up, there's a warning light glaring at me, and the error memory is chock-full of nonsense. I'm betting it's the engine oil temperature sensor acting up. I've wiggled wires, checked connections, and I'm leaning towards a defective cable or plug. Anyone else seen this gremlin?

I have an Avalon as well, though I can't remember the build year at the moment. I had similar symptoms a while back. The oil pressure light was intermittent, and the car felt sluggish at times. I hadn't thought of the temperature sensor though.

Interesting! Did your error memory also mention the oil temperature sensor? And what ended up being the fix for your Avalon? Was it a pain to diagnose?

Yes, the error codes pointed towards the oil temperature sensor. Considering your symptoms and the potential cable issue you mentioned, I'd advise getting it checked at a workshop. It's probably a simple fix, but better to be safe than sorry.

Thanks for the tip! Turns out you were spot on. Took it to a mechanic, and it was indeed the oil temperature sensor cable. 95€ later and she's purring like a kitten again! I really appreciate your help!
