Thanks for sharing your experience! That's really helpful to know about the corrosion and GPS module issues. Would you mind telling me how much you ended up paying for the whole repair? Also, has everything been working smoothly since the fix, or have you noticed any other quirks with the system?

Hey there! Thought I'd update you on the costs since you asked. The whole thing set me back 200 € for fixing the GPS antenna issue. And I've got some good news, since getting it repaired, the navigation system has been working like a charm! No more freezing, lost signals, or route calculation problems. Everything's running super smooth now. Just for your peace of mind, once they fixed the antenna, all the connected features started working perfectly too. The driver assistance systems are back to normal, and I haven't noticed any quirks or issues at all. It was definitely worth getting it sorted out properly. Trust me, it's such a relief not having to deal with those annoying navigation problems anymore. If you're experiencing similar issues, I'd say go for the repair, it's totally worth it to have everything working properly again. Let me know if you need any other info about the repair process!

Just got back from the mechanic, and I'm so glad I took your advice! The repair went smoother than I expected. Found a reliable shop that specializes in BMW electronics, and they discovered the exact same issue, corroded antenna connector and a faulty GPS module. The total cost came to around 250 €, bit more than what you paid, but still reasonable considering it's a newer model. They had it done in just a day and a half, which was faster than I expected. You were absolutely right about getting it fixed quickly. The navigation's working perfectly now, no more freezing or lost signals. Such a relief! The technician also mentioned that fixing it early probably prevented damage to other connected systems. Really appreciate your help with this. Saved me from a potential headache at the dealer, and now I've got a trustworthy mechanic for future issues. Thanks again for sharing your experience, it really helped me make the right decision!

I had a similar issue with my 2020 BMW iX3. The GPS antenna was indeed defective, causing the same symptoms you're describing. The navigation would freeze, routes wouldn't calculate, and the GPS signal was consistently lost. Had it checked at the garage last month. The technician found corrosion on the antenna connector and damage to the GPS module itself. It wasn't a quick fix, they had to replace both the antenna and the GPS module. The repair took about two days because they needed to calibrate the new system and run multiple tests. It's actually a serious issue since the GPS system is integrated with several other vehicle functions, including some of the driver assistance features. I wouldn't recommend driving too long with this problem. Not trying to worry you, but you should get it checked soon. My experience suggests it's better to address it before it affects other connected systems.
