Activated charcoal filter, eh? Where exactly is that located and what does it do?

Yeah, the filter is part of the emission control. On my Astra, it was near the fuel tank. I'd recommend getting it checked out at a workshop; they can run a leak detection test and check the pressure sensor. It's probably the charcoal filter.

Thanks, I'll do that. Turns out it was the charcoal filter in the fuel tank ventilation system, like you guessed! Cost me 275€ to get it fixed.

Sounds familiar! I had similar issues with my old Opel Astra, the engine stalled at idle and the check engine light was on. For me, it was the EVAP system. Has anyone mentioned a defective activated charcoal filter? That thing regulates air flow.
