CMAX Injection Issues

Thanks for the quick reply! I haven't checked the mass airflow sensor specifically, but I did give the air filter a look-over and it seemed alright. Where exactly is the mass airflow sensor located, and is it something I can easily test myself without any fancy equipment? Also, how long ago did you experience this, and did the smoke also occur in your case?

Locating the MAF sensor, it's usually positioned in the intake ducting, between the air filter box and the throttle body. You should be able to spot a cylindrical sensor with a connector plugged into it. Regarding testing it yourself: ideally, you'd use a multimeter to check its output voltage but without it, visual inspection of the connector and wiring might reveal obvious damage. I experienced similar smoke, yes, which made me suspect fuel delivery issues. Given the symptoms and your suspicion of a connection problem, I'd strongly suggest getting it checked by a workshop. It could save you a lot of time and potential further damage. Best to diagnose it properly before throwing parts at it.

Thanks for the detailed advice and confirming you had similar smoke. I appreciate you sharing your experience! I think I'll take your advice and book it into a workshop. Turns out it was indeed a defective cable/plug connection as I suspected, costing me around 95€. Hopefully, that will sort it out for good.

That sounds familiar! I've got a Ford CMAX myself, though a slightly older model, and I had similar symptoms a while back. Higher fuel consumption was the first thing I noticed, then the power loss. Stalling at idle is particularly annoying, isn't it? Have you checked the mass airflow sensor? A faulty reading there can mess with the fuel mixture and cause all sorts of problems. Also, have you recently changed your air filter? A blocked filter could also contribute to those symptoms.
