Cheers! Thanks for sharing your experience. That sounds exactly like what I'm dealing with right now. I'm curious, do you remember roughly how much you ended up paying for the whole repair? Also, has everything been running smoothly since then, or have you noticed any other A/C quirks popping up?

Hey again! Just wanted to follow up on your questions. After seeing the mechanic I mentioned, it turned out I got really lucky! The defective valves in the A/C system were actually covered under an extended warranty I didn't even know I had. So, believe it or not, the total cost came to exactly zero Euro! I'm also happy to report that since the repair, my A/C has been working like a dream, nice and frosty, just how it should be. No more weird noises or weak airflow issues. It's been about 8 months now, and everything's still running perfectly smooth. The compressor kicks in right away when I hit the button, and the cooling is super consistent. I'd definitely recommend getting yours checked out soon though. Like I mentioned before, these issues can snowball into bigger problems if left unchecked. Better to catch it early than end up with a busted compressor, ya know? Let me know how it goes with yours!

Thanks a lot for all the helpful info! Just wanted to update you all, I took your advice and got my CrosslandX checked out at the Vauxhall specialist. Turns out it was pretty similar to what you experienced. The mechanic found a faulty expansion valve and some leaking seals. Unfortunately, mine wasn't under warranty anymore, so I ended up paying around £600 for the full repair. But honestly, it was worth every penny! The A/C is now blasting cold air like it's brand new. The mechanic was really thorough and even showed me the worn-out parts they replaced. Much better experience than my last garage visit. Got it done just in time too, with summer coming up, I definitely didn't want to be stuck without proper cooling. They also mentioned it was good I brought it in when I did, as the compressor was starting to show signs of strain. Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction! Really appreciate all the advice.

Hey there! I actually faced a similar issue with my 2015 Vauxhall Mokka last summer. The symptoms were pretty much identical, weak cooling and the A/C compressor wouldn't engage consistently. Turned out the expansion valve was defective, and it was also leaking refrigerant from one of the seals. Took it to the Vauxhall specialist in town, good thing I did because they found that several valves in the A/C system were worn out and needed replacement. It wasn't just a simple recharge job. The whole thing took about a day and a half to fix because they had to remove quite a few components to access everything properly. It was definitely a serious issue that needed immediate attention, running the A/C with faulty valves could've damaged the compressor, which would've been much worse. My advice would be to get it checked at a certified Vauxhall shop. These A/C systems in modern Vauxhalls are pretty complex, and you want someone who knows the specific quirks of these models. Hope this helps!
