DS4 starting issues
Summary of the thread
A 2014 Citroen DS4 with a diesel engine was experiencing starting issues, occasional stalling, a rough-running engine, and increased fuel consumption, accompanied by a check engine light. The problem was suspected to be related to the fuel pump. Upon further investigation, it was found that a defective plug connection to the fuel pump was causing the issues. After fixing the connection, the car's performance returned to normal.

Thanks! I haven't checked the cable and plug connections yet. Where exactly should I be looking for those? Is it something easily accessible, or will I need to take a bunch of stuff apart?

On my Megane, the fuel pump was under the rear seats, but I'm not sure about your DS4. You might need to check your car's manual. It's usually not too difficult to access, but you might need some basic tools to remove some panels. If you're not comfortable doing it yourself, it might be worth taking it to a workshop. They'll be able to diagnose it properly.

You were spot on! Took it to a mechanic, and it turned out to be a defective plug connection to the fuel pump, like you said. They fixed it for 95€. Runs like a charm again. Thanks for the help!

Hey, that sounds familiar. I had similar issues with my old Renault Megane. Engine stalling and the check engine light were the main problems. Have you checked the cable and plug connections to the fuel pump? Sometimes a loose or corroded connection can cause these symptoms. It's an easy thing to check before you start replacing parts.
