Electrical fault in 2011 Mercedes C Class: sat nav failure and warning light illuminated

Hey guys, I'm investigating a problem with my 2011 Mercedes C Class petrol car. I'm struggling with a general electrical fault, the sat nav has stopped working and the warning light in the speedo is illuminated. Could this have something to do with the communication between the control units being faulty? Have any of you had experience of this and perhaps even a solution? I would be very interested to hear how you have had such problems rectified in the workshop. Thanks in advance for your help!

My Mercedes E220 W213 (built in 2017, diesel) probably has a problem with the power supply. I have noticed the following symptoms for 2-3 months: - The steering becomes stiff, - The brake support is diminishing, - The car feels sluggish overall and has a high power loss. I had suspected for some time that there was a problem with the electrical system. The garage has already read out the vehicle twice, but could not find any faults because the car ran normally again at these times. Occasionally everything works fine again before the problem reappears. The bigger problem is that the errors are often not displayed when reading out - the control unit seems to be faulty, so it doesn't always save the errors. You have to catch the right moment to record them. Using the Curly app, I was finally able to read out eight error codes: 1. powertrain malfunctioned (U0115) 2. total distance value implausible (B2282) 3. N68 Electric power steering (ES) - B210F "Input circuit 30" faulty 4. faulty TPMS (tire pressure monitoring system) 5. automatic transmission error code (008A09 - internal generic error) I disconnected the battery for 20 minutes as a test and then reconnected it. After that, the car ran better for a while, but after turning it off and restarting it the next day, the problem returned. I also found oil on the EGR valve cover.

The symptoms you're experiencing, combined with the error codes, suggest a potential issue with the vehicle's electrical system, possibly related to the battery, alternator, or wiring. Start by checking the battery's condition and ensuring all connections are clean and secure. Also, inspect the alternator to ensure it's charging the battery properly. The presence of oil on the EGR valve cover might indicate a separate issue that should be addressed, but it’s unlikely to be the cause of the electrical problems. Given the safety implications of steering and brake issues, I recommend having a professional mechanic perform a thorough inspection. Please let us know how it goes or if you have further questions.
