Figo Diesel Issue

Experiencing higher fuel consumption, power loss, stalling, and smoke with my 2013 Ford Figo diesel with 98,421 km. Air and fuel filters are okay. Suspect injection system issue, maybe a dodgy cable or plug connection. Anyone else encountered something similar?

I had almost the exact same thing happen with my Figo! Higher fuel consumption and smoke were the first things I noticed. Power was down too. Could be a fuel leak somewhere, but I'm no expert. Did you check for any obvious leaks in the fuel lines?

Thanks for the quick reply! I haven't spotted any obvious fuel leaks, but I'll take another look. When you say 'exact same thing', was it also stalling at idle and blowing smoke under acceleration? And did you manage to sort it out yourself, or did you have to take it to a mechanic?

Yeah, it was stalling at idle and smoking like a chimney when accelerating, just like yours. Honestly, I messed around with it for a bit, but I didn't want to risk making things worse. I took it to a workshop, and they sorted it out pretty quickly. Best to get it checked properly, I reckon.

Okay, thanks for the advice! Sounds like I'm best off getting it looked at by a professional. I was hoping to avoid it, but it's probably the wisest thing to do. It was a defective plug connection on the injection system. 95€ later and it runs like new!
