Yes, DTC points to a control unit communication error. Wiring issue suspected. Could you elaborate on the specifics of your similar experience? Which control unit was affected?

Ah, a communication error, that's very similar to what I experienced. Honestly, I'm not entirely certain which specific module was causing it in my car. I'd recommend getting the car to a qualified workshop to properly diagnose the root cause. Intermittent faults in these hybrid systems can be tricky.

Understood. Root cause was a defective plug connection to the engine control unit. Repair cost 95€. Issue resolved.

I have a Lexus IS too, and your symptoms sound awfully familiar. The check engine light and coolant issues are concerning. Have you checked for any specific diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) related to the hybrid control module? A generic OBD2 scanner might give you some insight.
