Lexus LX Cruise Control Issue

Hi, I'm having a strange issue with my 2013 Lexus LX with a gasoline engine. The cruise control has suddenly stopped working. When I try to engage it, I get an error message in the speedometer display. I've checked fuses, but nothing seems blown. I used an OBD2 scanner and found an error stored in the memory, but I don't have the specific code right now. Any ideas on what might be causing this? I suspect a faulty system.

Given the symptoms, especially the error message and stored error code, it suggests a deeper issue than a simple fuse. It's possible there's a problem with one of the wheel speed sensors, as the cruise control system relies on those for accurate speed maintenance. Alternatively, there could be a fault within the cruise control module itself or the associated wiring harness. Has the vehicle been in any minor accidents recently?

Thanks for the quick reply! No accidents recently, thankfully. The wheel speed sensors are an interesting thought. Is there a way to test those without specialized equipment? I'm trying to avoid a costly repair if possible. And where exactly is the cruise control module located in the LX?

While some basic multimeter tests can be performed on the wheel speed sensors, interpreting the results without the proper diagnostic tools and vehicle-specific information can be challenging. The cruise control module's location can vary, but it's often integrated within the engine control unit (ECU) or a separate body control module (BCM). Given the complexity of modern vehicle electronics, a proper diagnosis by a qualified technician is recommended to avoid further complications or misdiagnosis.

Thanks again for your insights. I took your advice and brought it to a workshop. It was a defective cable/plug connection to the cruise control component, as suspected. The repair cost me 95€ including diagnostics. Appreciate the help!
