LFA Engine Stalling

Experiencing difficulty starting my 2010 Lexus LFA gasoline engine, currently at 171409 km. Engine stalls at idle, and the check engine light is on. Diagnostic scan points to a defective camshaft sensor, possibly the encoder wheel. Has anyone encountered similar issues with the LFA's engine control system?

I had something similar on my LFA. Check engine light, rough idling. I initially suspected the crankshaft sensor, but the camshaft sensor was throwing codes. Have you tried sensor testing? The readings might point you in the right direction.

Thanks for the insight. Did your symptoms also include persistent stalling, and was the issue definitively traced to the sensor itself, or was it a related component affecting the sensor's readings? I want to be sure before replacing it.

Yes, it stalled quite a bit. Replacing the sensor fixed it, but honestly, with those symptoms, get it to a workshop. It could be more than just the sensor. It ended up costing me around 695€ to get sorted.

Appreciate the confirmation and advice. I've decided to proceed with replacing the camshaft sensor, given the error codes and similar experiences. Will take it to a certified workshop to ensure correct diagnosis and repair.
