Mini Cabrio Electric Microphone Problems

Yep, sounds like the exact same thing that happened to me. Tried everything – resetting the system, checking connections, even shouting at the car (don't judge!). Eventually, I had to bite the bullet and take it to the workshop. They replaced the whole infotainment unit. It's a pain, but at least the speech recognition works perfectly now, and the sound quality is back to normal. Good luck!

Thanks for the quick response! I did check the wireless connection, and it seems stable. I even tried using a wired connection, but the problem persists. The Mini Cabrio is practically new! Could it really be a hardware issue with the infotainment system itself?

Thank you so much for sharing your experience! It sounds incredibly similar to what I'm dealing with. I've booked an appointment with the service center, and they've confirmed that the infotainment system is indeed the culprit. Microphone repair is not possible they said, the whole unit needs replacing. The cost they quoted me is 815€. Hopefully, this will resolve the issue once and for all! I really appreciate your help!

Whoa, that sounds frustrating! I had a similar issue with my Mini Cooper – not the electric one, but still. My voice recognition went completely bonkers, and the sound quality during calls was atrocious. Did you check your wireless connection? Sometimes a weak signal can mess with the speech recognition, especially if you're using wireless Apple CarPlay or Android Auto.
