Peugeot 207 Fuel Consumption Starting Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2010 Peugeot 207 diesel is experiencing high fuel consumption and starting issues, with diagnostics indicating a defective throttle valve, specifically the accelerator pedal module. A similar issue was resolved by addressing a potentially gunked-up air intake, which can affect the air/fuel mixture and engine idle. The suggested solution is to visit a workshop for professional assessment and repair, which may include replacing the accelerator pedal module.

Intriguing! Could you elaborate on the 'gunked up' air intake scenario? Specifically, how did you assess the throttle position and control valve?

Well, I'm not a pro, but a mechanic told me the gunk messes with the air/fuel mix. Honestly, I just took it to a workshop, and they sorted it out. Probably best if you do the same!

Acknowledged. I appreciate the insight; a workshop visit it is. The defective accelerator pedal module demanded replacement, costing 205€. Thanks!

Hey, I had similar issues on my 207! High fuel consumption and it was a real pain to start. Did you check the air intake? It might be gunked up, affecting the engine idle.
