Problems with acceleration, increased fuel consumption and black smoke in a BMW 3 Series (2007, gasoline engine)

Hi, I have a problem with my 2007 BMW 3 Series (gasoline engine). It no longer pulls away properly, jerks when accelerating, consumes a lot of fuel and emits black smoke. The engine check lamp is also illuminated. I think it could be due to a heavy load on the NOx catalytic converter. Have any of you ever had similar experiences and been able to solve the problem in your workshop? I would be very happy to receive tips and your experiences. Thanks in advance!

Hello, Yes, the errors keep coming back (after clearing the error, approx. every 20 - 25 km) I have already made a workshop appointment (unfortunately not possible until the beginning of July), as I suspect a problem with the wiring. What interests me in relation to Carly is why I can't trigger desulphurization and why I can't delete the engine adaptations

Hello Kurt, of course this could be due to the fact that the desulphurization does not start because the system is not working properly and therefore the engine control unit prevents the desulphurization. Regarding the engine adaptations, please contact our support (not here in the community) but the support for the app itself.

Well, I get the message again and again, but when I do a regeneration drive I see that the lambda values are around 0.95 during the drive, the cat temperatures then go above 700 degrees and the stored mass in the Nox cat drops down to 122 within 30 minutes.

It seems like you're on the right track with the regeneration drive. The lambda values and cat temperatures you're seeing are within the normal range. However, if the message keeps coming back, there might be another underlying issue. It could be a faulty sensor or a problem with the ECU. I would recommend having a professional mechanic take a look at it to ensure everything is functioning properly. Please keep us updated on your progress. Do you have any other questions or concerns?
