Problems with the air conditioning in the Opel Combo 2007 - looking for experience and tips on how to solve them

Hi folks, I have a problem with my 2007 Opel Combo - petrol engine. Somehow it no longer cools and heats properly, the air conditioning just won't start and only blows warm air. I think it's probably a fault with the air conditioning system, but I'm sure there are more details that I could be overlooking. Have any of you ever had similar problems and can perhaps give me some tips on how the garage fixed it and what their experiences were? Any help would be really great!

Summary of the thread

The 2007 Opel Combo is experiencing issues with its air conditioning system, as it fails to cool or heat properly and only blows warm air. Potential causes include a defect in the air conditioning system's valves or a low coolant level. Suggested solutions involve checking the coolant level and consulting a garage to inspect the air conditioning system, focusing on the valves.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Hey, I'm not a professional, but I had similar problems with my 2005 Opel Vectra. It was a defect in individual valves in the air conditioning system. I had it checked at a garage and they fixed it at no cost to me, so I paid 0.0 euros for it. Ask at a garage, maybe they'll have a solution for you. But can you give more information about the current condition of your car? Every little thing can help to give you more details and help you further.

Hey, thanks for your advice, I'll definitely talk to the garage about the valves! So, as far as I know, everything else is fine. My Combo has 114489 km on it and the last service was without any problems. But it's really annoying, especially now that it's getting warmer again... I hope it won't be too expensive.

Hey, I'm glad I could help you! I understand how irritating it is, especially now in the summer. When nothing cooled or heated my car, the first thing I did was check the coolant level. If there is a lack of fluid, that could be the problem. Otherwise, it really could be the valves, as you say. Since you say that your last service was problem-free and the mileage is also okay, I would simply have the air conditioning system checked. In my experience, it's always good to get these things checked by a professional as soon as possible. Hopefully it's not a major repair and the costs remain reasonable. Keep your fingers crossed that the fault is found quickly and that you can cool your Combo comfortably again soon.

Hey, thanks for the other tips! Yes, the coolant level is a good idea, I'll check that tomorrow morning. You're right, I'd better have it checked. I just hope the costs are kept within limits. But thanks again for taking the time to be so helpful. It's really reassuring not to be alone with the problem. I'll keep you posted on how things progress with my combo. Have a nice evening!
