Seat Arona electrical issues resolved

I'm seriously losing it with my 2020 Seat Arona diesel! It's got about 148237 km on it, and lately, it's been throwing all sorts of fault messages. Sometimes it's the driving mode, sometimes it's just random error lamps lighting up like a Christmas tree. The audio and nav systems keep cutting out, and sometimes the whole thing just shuts down or freezes up. I scanned it, and it's showing errors in the error memory. Could this be a control module problem?

Hey there! I had something similar happen with my Arona. Random error messages popping up, the radio acting weird, and sometimes the whole infotainment system would just freeze. It was super annoying! Did you try using an OBD-II scan tool to check for any stored error codes? That might give you a clue.

Yeah, I did use a scan tool, and it showed some errors related to the control module, but nothing specific. What exactly was the issue with yours? Was it also the control module itself, or something else?

Sounds very familiar. For me, it turned out to be a dodgy cable connection to the control module, specifically the connection to the BUS system. It was causing all sorts of communication errors. Honestly, I'd suggest taking it to a workshop to get it checked out properly. They'll be able to diagnose it for sure.

Big thanks for your help! I took it to a local mechanic, and you were spot on! They checked the control module cable connection and found it defective. They fixed it, and the error is gone! Cost me around 155€, but so worth it to have everything working again.
