Seat Tarraco Brake Light Switch Problems

I'm at my wit's end! My 2021 Seat Tarraco hybrid is throwing a fit. Error memory's full of "brake light switch" faults, the tail light is acting up, and the infotainment system keeps yelling at me. I suspect it's the brake switch itself, but could this be something more sinister with the brake system? I'm no mechanic, but I'm thinking switch replacement might be the answer. Any ideas before I take it to the shop?

I had something similar happen on my Tarraco. Check the brake pedal itself, is it sticking at all? Also, did this start happening after any recent work on the brake system?

Sticking, you say? Hmm, I haven't noticed anything obvious. Where exactly should I be looking for this sticking? And no, no recent work on the brake system, thank goodness. This error message with the tail light issue just appeared out of nowhere.

Yeah, have a look at the pedal's movement, make sure it's fully returning after you release it. If it's not, even a tiny bit, it can mess with the brake switch. The workshop should be able to diagnose it quickly or replace the switch if necessary.

Well, I feel a bit silly now. Turns out, my foot was ever so slightly resting on the brake pedal. Just enough to trigger the brake light switch and throw the whole system into a tizzy. Adjusted my seating position, and poof, error's gone! No switch replacement needed, thankfully. A big thank you for your help and insights, I really appreciate it! Cost me absolutely nothing which is always a win.
