Seat Tarraco Windshield Washer Heater Issue

I'm stumped. My Seat Tarraco, build year Diesel engine, is giving me trouble. It has some km on the clock, and the windshield washer heater seems dead. I'm getting an error, and the spray nozzles are freezing in cold weather. I think it's a bad cable or plug connection to the heater. Has anyone else seen this? Maybe it's from winter driving and using the washer fluid a lot, causing corrosion. Any ideas?

Hey, I've got a Tarraco too, though I don't recall the exact year. I had something similar last winter. Washer fluid freezing, error message and all. Did you check the fuse for the windshield washer heater? Could be an easy fix. Also, listen to the washer motor when you use the wipers; sometimes those fail, though it doesn't usually throw an error. A multimeter can be useful for figuring out electrical stuff; they're not too expensive.

Thanks for the quick reply! I checked the fuses; they're fine. I can hear the washer motor running. You mentioned a similar problem – was it also the windshield heater, and how did you fix it?

Yep, same symptoms. The error code pointed to the windshield heater circuit, and after some digging, the dealer found a corroded connector. Winter driving and road salt, you know? Unless you're good with electrical stuff, I'd take it to a workshop. Messing with electrics without the right tools can make things worse. Plus, they can diagnose it right and seal the new connection properly.

Just wanted to let you know, the workshop nailed it. Faulty connector on the windshield heater, just like you said. Replaced it, and it's all good now. Cost 95€ including labor. Thanks for the help!
