Seeking Advice on 2020 Lexus ES Hybrid Overheating and Check Engine Warning Issues, Suspected Engine Coolant Bypass Valve Problem

Hey! I'm having a bit of a pickle with my 2020 Lexus ES Hybrid. It's been acting up lately, overheating and lighting up the check engine warning. I'm suspecting the engine coolant bypass valve might be on the fritz. Has anyone faced similar issues and got it fixed? What did your workshop determine as the cause and what was their solution? I'd appreciate your insights and experiences, would help me understand the problem better.

Has anyone had similar ? Thank you in advance for your advice

The fact that white smoke is not always present and your oil looks fine on the dipstick is a good sign. However, intermittent white smoke could still be an early sign of a head gasket issue. I would still recommend performing a coolant system pressure test as a first step. If the system holds pressure, you might want to consider a compression test or a cylinder leak down test to further investigate the possibility of a head gasket issue. Please keep us updated on your progress. Do you have any other questions?
