VelSatis air valve issue

I'm experiencing an issue with my 2002 Renault VelSatis, gasoline engine, with 105120 km on the clock. The check engine light keeps illuminating. Initial diagnostics point towards an air valve issue. I suspect a defective hose connection from the pump to the valve is the culprit, given the symptoms. Has anyone else encountered similar problems? Air intake, engine stalling, manifold pressure, air supply, throttle body – any of these ring a bell?

Sounds familiar. I have a VelSatis too, though I haven't checked the build year recently. Is the engine running rough? Any noticeable changes in fuel consumption or performance besides the light?

The engine seems to run a bit rougher than usual, especially at idle. I haven't noticed any significant changes in fuel consumption, but the rough idling is definitely there. Could this really be related to that air valve hose?

Yeah, the rough idle confirms my suspicion. Had the same thing. Turned out the hose was cracked. Honestly, I'd get it checked by a workshop, could save you a headache in the long run.

Thanks for the insight. Took your advice and visited a mechanic. Indeed, it was the air valve hose. Repair cost me 175€. Appreciate the help!
