2019 Hyundai Eon Displays Check Engine Light: Seeking Advice and Reliable Mechanic Recommendations

Hey all, I've got a 2019 Hyundai Eon, petrol engine, nearly 26.6K on the clock. The check engine light popped up recently, along with a warning on the speedometer. My diagnostic tool says there's a fault stored and I'm thinking it might be related to the Fuel filler flap position sensor. Had a nasty experience with my mechanic last time, so not thrilled to go back. Anybody had similar issues? Also, looking for recommendations on a reliable mechanic. Cheers!

Hey there, I've got a 2016 Hyundai Verna, and yeah, I've been there. The check engine light plus speedometer warning rang a few bells. In my case, it was a defective fuel filler flap wiring harness. Looked like the sensor couldn't understand the flap's position due to wire damage. It was a bit of a pickle, too. Wasn't exactly a minor issue, I'd say. Last I was at the garage, they did a thorough check for any further underlying issues, and ended up replacing the entire wiring harness. Can't say your situation would be precisely the same, but it could be a good starting point to check if your wiring has gone dodgy. As for a reliable mechanic, I've had a good run with the guys at Mike's Auto Repair. Thorough, fair, and they know their stuff. Remember, might not be a minor issue. Get it addressed ASAP. Cheers!

Hey! Thanks for sharing your experience, it sounds almost identical to mine. You've got me intrigued about the defective wiring harness, it's probably worth checking out in my case as well. Can you recall off the top of your head how much it set you back to replace the whole thing? Also, since the repair, has any other issue come up or has it been smooth sailing? Regarding the mechanic recommendation, I'll give Mike's Auto Repair a shot. Gotta say, dealing with a fair and knowledgeable mechanic has been a struggle for me lately. Safe driving. Cheers!

Hey! Yep, I recall the whole wiring debacle pretty well. For replacing that defective fuel filler flap wiring harness, it set me back 155.00 €. Sounds a bit steep, but once that was sorted, my Hyundai has been running like a dream, so absolutely no regrets there. Nice and smooth, you know? Since the fix, I haven't had any similar issues. The fuel filler flap position sensor has been working just fine. It looks like the mechanic did a pretty solid job. So yeah, ever since the visit to the workshop, it's been nothing but smooth sailing for me. Trust me, paying Mike's Auto Repair a visit is a good call. Quality work and good people. Drive safe! Cheers!

Hey there, Cheers for the swift response and all the details. Forking out 155.00€ isn't exactly a walk in the park, but it sounds like it's well worth the trouble if it guarantees a smooth ride moving forward. Been a while since my Eon gave me stress-free miles. Tackling the same faulty wiring seems like the way to go, especially since it held up fine for you thereafter. Mike's Auto Repair better brace themselves, I'm heading their way soon! Kudos for the recommendation and sharing your experiences. Much appreciated. Happy motoring! Cheers!
