Thanks for the tip, Maxxer75. Does this work with normal software, Carly or Launch S7? Probably not, right?

No, only possible with BMW software.

I suspected it, but now I have a workshop that can do it👍

Hi folks, I've got an error message Check drive possible to continue (yellow exclamation mark) I read it via Carly and it shows that the DpF is almost full. Could this be the reason for the error message? If so, why is the DPF lamp not lit? About my car BMW F31 320 2018 B47 320d

That sounds more like an ABS sensor, but then a whole "fir tree" would have to light up in the panel

The problem is that nothing points to ABS. There are only 2 critical faults in the engine and that is soot particle filter

So, I just couldn't let it go. I assume that the BMW control unit has an approximate runtime of 170,000 km programmed for a DPF warning. I read out the DPF values with Carly and came up with an Ash mass of 25gr and a Soot mass of 15.73gr. All values are well within the normal range, only the warning "Remaining running time approx. 34,000km". I have now removed the DPF and flushed it thoroughly with water (not at high pressure, just first with a 1/2" hose and then again with a small Kärcher). Rusty water came out, which probably causes the small reddish ash balls. After only clear water came out, I reinstalled the DPF. I then used a Launch919E to swap a DPF and requested a regeneration. Before the trip the following values: Ash mass 0.53gr, Sootmass 36.00gr. During the regeneration Ash measured 0.53gr and Soot measured 3.22gr. After the ride (end of regeneration 20min) then Ash mass 0.53gr and Soot mass 27.01gr. So, the error messages are gone and the DPF is like new again. That gives hope, doesn't it? :-):-)

Hello Guenni, It's great to hear that you've managed to clean your DPF and reset the values. Just remember that while this method might work in the short term, it's not a permanent solution. The DPF will continue to accumulate soot and ash over time, and you may need to repeat this process in the future. If you notice any changes in your vehicle's performance or if the warning light comes back on, it might be time to consider having the DPF professionally cleaned or replaced.

Hey, my e91 gives 00452a fault regarding dpf fill level, I have to find a way to start the regeneration for dpf, but I either cant find the proper section in the carly or there is something else wrong since the regeneration will not start/turn on. On my previous car (audi) the regeneration started automaticly, but with this bmw 320 d 2011 it has not started for a long time. Kind regards, timo

However, cleaning alone does not solve the problem. The control unit must be taught a new DPF, as the remaining distance is defined in the software!
