Mazda MX5 2002 Model: AC Blower Concerns and Potential AC Control Panel Defect

Hey! I'm running into some issues with my 2002 Mazda MX5 (Gasoline, 231095 KM mileage). My blower isn't working quite right and I'm guessing it might be a defect with the AC control panel. Last visit to the mechanic was a bit of a nightmare so want to go in informed this time. Anyone had similar issues? How was your mechanic's response? Any insight would be much appreciated!

Hey there! I got a 1999 Mazda MX5 and a while back I had something similar going on. Seemed like my cable connectivity was on the fritz. Grabbed my tools, went under the hood but no joy...I ain't no mechanic after all. Took it to the garage and turns out, it was an issue with the main wiring harness. The way it was explained to me, this connection sends signals from the switch to the compressor and blower. So if it ain't working smoothly, you get symptoms like what you're describing. It wasn't a quick fix, but it wasn't something major either. They had to remove some parts to reach it and reconnect everything correctly. Hope this example helps you out. Don't stress, even though car trouble can be a major pain, it's something that can be dealt with efficiently. Best of luck with your garage visit!

Hey, thanks for sharing your experience! You've really helped put my mind at ease a little. Your issue does sound similar to mine. Do you happen to remember how much the repair cost you back then? And did you run into any other problems related to this after the fix? Really appreciate your help!

Hey! Happy to hear my experience eased your worries a bit. I recall the cost for fixing that pesky cable connection was about 210.00 € - not too shabby, considering the misery it was causing. The good news is, since the mechanic did his magic on the air conditioning control panel, it's been running smooth, no other related issues to report. So, I'd say money well spent! Hope your mechanic visit goes just as smooth. Cheers!

Wow, it's great to know that! A repair within 300€ is actually quite alright, especially if it resolves the headaches my car's been causing me lately. And it's even better to hear that you've had no further issues since the fix. This gives me renewed confidence heading into the garage tomorrow. Thanks again for sharing your situation. You've been a massive help. Cheers!
