3. How do you perform a car diagnostics check?

1. Run a Health Check

Running a health check means that the scanner will take a look at all of your car’s ECUs and make a list of any issues found in your car.

These issues will be shown in the form of OBD2 codes which indicate the type of issue present and the location of the issue.

2. Read out OBD2 Codes

Once the car diagnostics check is completed, the scanner will have read out all the OBD2 codes present in your car.

We recommend you go through all of the codes found to see if there are any critical problems that you need to take care of.

3. Clear OBD2 Codes

There are two scenarios when you should clear your car’s OBD2 fault codes:

1. After running your first diagnostics check: It is possible that old codes are stored in your vehicle’s memory but are no longer an issue, so it’s best to clear them and see if they come back after a few days of driving.

2. After fixing issues in your car: You should clear all fault codes after repairing issues in your car and run another diagnostics check to ensure they are not present anymore.
